We had a lot of fun on the 23rd and 24th of June playing to seven different schools in Dorchester! We played some old favourites and some newer pieces to around a thousand children in total - we had a great response to the new Trombone Story. Huge thanks to Hanna Trevorrow (Head of Wessex Schools Music) for helping to put this tour together, and thank you as always to our wonderful musicians. This is what Hanna had to say about Instrument Stories:
"The stories were engaging and the combination of music, narration and illustrations captured the children's attention brilliantly. Hearing such accomplished musicians performing in a huge range of styles, showing both technical excellence but also demonstrating the element of enjoyment that music creates, was very inspiring. The participation parts were very successful and there was just the right balance of introducing children to the key concepts of the musical elements, combined with a fun exploration of the capabilities of the instruments. I would highly recommend other schools to engage with the Emma Johnson Foundation in the future."
